MANITOBA CONTRACT BRIDGE LEAGUE
MINUTES OF MEETING MARCH 13, 2023

Meeting held via Zoom

 President Ray Hornby called to order at 4.07 P M

1.      Minutes of Meeting February 6, 2023, approved as posted. Moved by Doug Fisher, Seconded Gloria Woloshyn Carried

2.      Spring Sectional Paulette joined our meeting. Dates of April 21-22 2023, brochures printed, all plans made, budget presented.  Note Paulette will produce a template to be used in future tournament plannings.

3.     Social Event Festival de Bridge Date February 23, 2023, Report presented. A very successful event. Entertainment, Delicious Food and 19 tables played bridge. Thanks to the organizer and all the volunteers.

4.     Financial Report Ray updated the operations for the year 2022. We anticipate table counts will pick up end of March early April.

5.      Learn how to Play Bridge another session is planned for April 1, 2023.John and Marielle will present, clubs are asked to announce this event.  There are 5 tables enrolled at this time.

6.     Bill will commence Intermediate lessons Late April, Early May  Face to Face game  on Tuesday  Afternoon ill be announce soon.

7.     Virtual Games Friday game will be run March 17 and 24.  This game will be discontinued March 31, 2023

8.     Stac Games These are special games match pointed across the district give extra coloured match points.  The sanction fees for these games are expensive, the unit will continue to subsidize part of this fee.  For future games cost to play will be $10.00.

9.     Supervised Play continues on Tuesday Evening.  Average of 6 tables are attending.

10.   Next Meeting Monday April 17, 2023, 4.00 PM via zoom
