MINUTES OF MEETING APRIL 17, 2023

Present: Unit 181 Board Members:  Shirley Galler, Deloris Ankrom, Ray Hornby, Gloria Woloshyn, Doug Fisher, Marielle Brentnall, Gerri Hewitt, Dave West, Marsha Kimelman

 President Ray Hornby called to order at 4.00 P M

1.      Minutes of Meeting March 13, 2023, approved as posted. Moved by Shirley Galler Seconded Doug Fisher Carried

2.      Spring Sectional Paulette joined our meeting. Dates of April 21-22, 2023, All plans in place.

3.     Fall Sectional will be held October 13-14, 2023.

4.     2024 Regional Tournament discussion ensued.

5.     Social Event Festival de Bridge Date February 23, 2023, Report presented. A very successful event. Entertainment, Delicious Food and 19 tables played bridge. Thanks to everyone.

6.     Financial Report Ray updated the operations for the year 2022. We anticipate table counts will pick up end of March early April.

7.      Learn how to Play Bridge held April 1 was well presented well attended 47 purchased entries. Thanks to the organizers and the volunteers.

8.     Bill will restart his Tuesday face to face games May 2, 2023

9.     The Unit and Bill will meet to negotiate terms of a new contract re his games held at the facility.

10.   NAP Qualifying period June 1-August 31, 2023.Unit 181 will subsidize 2 games per sanction. Dates will be announced and posted on the web site.

11.   Supervised Play continues very successfully on Tuesday Evenings. 

12.    Vaccine requirements. Motion: Moved by Gerri Hewitt, seconded by Doug Fisher Unit 181 will no longer require Proof of Vaccinations to play in Unit 181 Face to Face Games effective May 1, 2023. In accordance with ACBL policy effective May 15,2023 this will also apply to Tournaments. Carried abstaining Dave West
