MINUTES OF MEETING MARCH 12, 2024

New item added to agenda Helen Shields April 2, 2024 game

Vice President Marsha Kimelman called the meeting to order at 4.00 PM, President Ray Hornby presided 4.01PM

Minutes of meeting January 9,2024 approved as posted.  Moved Shirley Galler, Seconded Marsha Kimelman Carried.

Financial report: Ray Hornby reported we are currently in a break-even position for 2024.

The mentoring program to date has 6 mentorships ongoing.

Supervised play is a success up to 9 tables at last report.

The new Game 0-199 Thursday evening at last report had an average of 5- 7 tables attending.

Regional 2024 Dates set September 25-28, 2024.

Learn to play Bridge  Feb 24, 2024, held with 29 participants. Beginner lessons commenced following. Next session of LTPB September 21.

Spring Sectional Dates April 11-13, 2024. Flyers are out.  One session Thursday Evening 6.30 PM pairs game, one session Friday Morning 11AM to 2PM, 2 session Swiss Teams Saturday.

Special Games Helen Shields Tuesday April 2, 2024, will be held Dave West will co-ordinate.

Tournament Chair is required.

Lessons Bill Treble will have a series commencing late April, Competitive Bidding, Defending, and 2/1.

Discussion held re Soul Sanctuary requiring our space for their special events.  Ray will approach to endeavor to get a listing well in advance and if there are alternate days that we could use to hold our games we could better inform our players well in advance.
