Vice President Marsha Kimelman called the meeting to order at 4.01 PM, President Ray Hornby presided 4.09PM
Minutes of meeting April 16,2024 approved as posted. Moved Dave West, Seconded Bob Neudorf Carried
Financial report: Bob Neudorf provided a copy of the Financial Statements for the year ending December 31, 2023. These will be presented at the AGM. We had a small surplus over expenses. 2024 continues to show an increase in attendance at our regular games.
The mentoring chair Gloria presented a report on 11 completed mentorships most who turned in reports. Another 10 are in progress.
Supervised play continues to be extremely successful. The current program will take a summer break starting June 17 until September. September date will be announced.
The new Game 0-199 Thursday Evening continues to be popular.
Regional 2024 Dates set September 25-28, 2024.
Learn to play Bridge Next session of LTPB September 21.
Lessons Bill currently has sessions in progress. Jim and Keran completed their beginner series.
NAP June 1-Aug 31, 2024, for qualifying games, schedule will be announced. Dave West will coordinate. Only paid-up members of ACBL can qualify to play at the next level.
Gloria will handle partnerships for our Regional.
AGM Saturday June 1, 2024. Meeting 11.00 AM, Lunch 12.00 Team Game 12.30PM Awards for Ace of Clubs and Mini-McKenny will be given out. Shirley will send invitations to all the winners. The Helen Shields award won by a pair from Unit 181 will also be presented.
Facility lease renewal Ray is in negotiations with Soul Sanctuary.
Name Tags there has been a request for these. We will place an order; forms are being provided to the directors for orders to be taken. Prepaid at the time form is signed with the proper spelling of how the tag is to be printed.
Discussion ensued re new computer requirements and Technical Support that would be needed. To be continued.
Reimbursement: Motion That any Unit 181 “A” Team that completes the Round Robin of the CBF Bridge Week competition will be reimbursed card fees paid to play in further sessions. Application for reimbursement to be made by the Team Captain. Moved Shirley Galler, Seconded Kevin Tomanek. Carried. Ray reclused.
