MANITOBA CONTRACT BRIDGE LEAGUE
MINUTES OF MEETING OCTOBER 22, 2024

Present: Unit 181 Board Members:  Shirley Galler, Ray Hornby, Marsha Kimelman, Ken Goodridge, Jacqueline Meyers, Gloria Woloshyn

President Ray Hornby called to order at 4.03 P M

•       Minutes of Meeting September 17, 2024, approved as posted. Moved by Marsha Kiimelman Seconded Jaqueline Meyers Carried

•       Financial Report Regional Tournament report. Successful showed a profit.  Attendance 167.5 tables in play. Holding the tournament at Soul Sancuary and the billeting of the director assisted in the profitability.  A well run, well organized tournament.  Thanks to all.

•        Mentorship  Ray Hornby will organize a committee to review the current program and set new guidelines to assist the Coordinator. The current program is progressing with several pairs completing their games.

•       Supervised Play continues to be well attended

•       Intermediate Games continues

•       2026 Regional discussion was held with suggestions we schedule a year in advance, advertise the tournament, ensure our schedule has games for all and also state that single sessions will be accepted.

•       Learn to Play Bridge awaiting dates for next program

•       Special events Coordinator required.  We missed the Erin Berry Rookie Master in October. Require planning to put on our calendar all specials, example the 2 Rookie Master games held Spring and Fall,NAP, CNTC, Instant Matchpoint etc. This will enable the Unit to apply for sanctions and advertise the games.

•       Facility renewal contract nearing completion will have further info next meeting.

•       Next meeting November 26, 2024, 4.00 PM via Zoom
