JOHN ISAAC DOERKSEN October 8, 1958 - March 21, 2015 It is with great sadness and the heaviest of hearts that the Doerksen Family announces the sudden passing of our dear brother John, on Saturday March 21, 2015. John was predeceased by his mother Lilliane Doerksen and by his nephew Mathew Doerksen. Left to mourn his passing is John's father Isaac Doerksen; his brothers, Leonard (June), Garry (Marlene), Ken (Sharon); his sisters, Diane (Peter), Bev (Rick), Lorraine (Dave), Marie and Darlene. John will also leave to mourn many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a very very special daughter Alexa. John was born in St. Boniface and his zest for life began early. He was born three months premature weighing in at 3 lbs. and 3 ounces and spent the first six months in an oxygen incubator. Johnny had a fighting spirit and was loved by all who knew him. Johnny was also a hard worker and went to work at the Dari Whip at the age of 13 and loved and was loved by his Greek bosses. John was known by his incredible memory, rarely getting an order mixed up. John loved his work and made many friends at the Whip. Unfortunately John's health failed him and he had to give up working early in life. Johnny was a caring and generous man who would give you his last dollar or the shirt off his back. Johnny loved to make people laugh and he had a great sense of humour playing tricks or jokes on anyone or else do a stand up comedy routine. A celebration of John's life will be conducted on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Norwood Legion located at 134 Marion Street. All are welcome. Johnny's final resting place will be at the Glenlawn Memorial beside his beloved mother Lilliane. John will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Sha-va Johnny.
