Charlotte Edith Ure (Eagles)
September 4, 1931 - November 10th, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Charlotte Edith Ure (nee Eagles) born September 4, 1931. Mom was reunited with her loving husband, Wayne on November 10th, 2024, after a short stay at Health Sciences North Hospital in Sudbury, Ontario. She leaves to mourn their four children: Cathy Heudebourck and children Victoria Plett – Max, Bayliegh, Julianna Bartel (Cody) and Brooks, Jennifer Friesen (Peter John) – Areanna, Nolan, and Chayse, Debbi-Ann Barkman (Dave) – Abi and Logan, Ashley Forsyth (Krissy) – Lexi and Teagan; Debby Gnoinski and children Jeff Gnoinski (Jennifer) – Emily and Ethan, William Gnoinski, Ben Gnoinski (Susan); Chris Ure (Elizabeth) and children Samantha Moir (Chad) – Logan and Skye, Stephanie Leduc (Matthew) and Carol Ure.
Charlotte also leaves to mourn her passing a sister, Jean and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Charlotte was predeceased by her parents John Wilbur Eagles and Edith Edna Eagles (nee Coggins), her loving husband, Charles Wayne Alexander Ure, Mom’s favourite Aunt Myrtle Coggins, and her brother Owen Eagles.

Charlotte was a teacher at Sudbury Secondary School and taught Home Ec and Family Living. Upon retirement she continued teaching Quilting and Bunka (a needlework genre) to a circle of women with whom she maintained a lasting friendship. She enjoyed travelling and combined it with other passions such as Bunka conferences and Bridge tournaments where she attained the level of Life Master. Puzzling and needlepoint were hobbies she enjoyed in her downtime.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses on the fifth floor for the excellent care provided to Mom during her stay with them, the Home Care Team, Community Paramedics Service and the multitude of friends, neighbors and students that assisted her in the last years of her life allowing her to maintain a semblance of independence that was most precious to her, and appreciated by the family. A special thank you to her trio of ladies that were kind enough to chauffeur Mom to appointments, run errands, take her shopping, just sit and keep her company and assist with housekeeping chores that became a little too much for a 93-year-old woman. Paulette, Janey and Roxanne, much love and appreciation of your care and compassion for Mother as her health declined.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Breast Screening Services per Mom’s wishes.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Mid July. Details to follow as we get closer to the date.
