OLGA NAHIRNIAK
November 13, 1924 - August 4, 2019
With heavy hearts, we announce that Olga passed away peacefully on August 4, 2019 in Fred Douglas Lodge, at the age of 94 years.
Olga is predeceased by her beloved husband Mervin (1991) and sister Lily (2011). She is survived by her sisters, Nadia (Ben) Hanuschak and Victoria (Vicky) Johnston, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She taught school for 40 years mostly in Winnipeg but she did have two years in Soest, Germany with the Department of National Defence teaching children of military families. She is a member of The Unitarian Universalist Church, Humanists of Manitoba, Manitoba NDP and Winnipeg Humane Society.
She had a zest for life: mushroom picking, enjoying music, taking pictures (won first prize with her group), dancing, yoga and was an avid bridge player.
She loved animals: cats and dogs were never passed up without patting them. Ziggy, her last cat's ashes, are with her in the casket.
We wish to thank the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes can be made to The First Unitarian Universalist Church of Winnipeg, 603 Wellington Crescent, Winnipeg, MB R3M 0A7, or charity of one's choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at the First Unitarian Church, 603 Wellington Crescent. Viewing one-hour prior.
