MINUTES OF MEETING MARCH 27,2018
Present: Unit 181 Board Members: Shirley Galler, Barry Wolk, John Hindle, Ray Hornby, , Dave West, Marlene Pontifex , Doug Fisher, Leigh Anne Shafer.
Also in attendance Carolyn Douglas, Jenna Tichon, Bill Treble
Vice President John Hindle chaired the meeting. Called to order 5.35 PM
1. Minutes of Meeting February 27,2018 approved as printed. Moved by Doug Fisher, Seconded Dave West Carried.
2. Business arising out of the minutes
Blue Book now ready to be published. Leigh Anne to send a copy to John who will take list to publishers for quotes a quantity of 500 books were suggested. Discussed up dating after publishing. An editing copy to be placed by the computer. Shirley Galler will ensure that updates are maintained.
AGM to be held Saturday May 12, 2018 following Saturday Team Game. The AGM also elects Board Members for 2018. Nominating committee Doug Fisher and Shirley Galler will provide a slate of prospective board members. AGM to be published on the Web Site.
Learn Bridge in a Day will be held Saturday April 14 Currently 3 tables are registered. Advertising is in the Winnipeg Free Press and will be advertised on our web site Information will be also sent in a mass email.

5 Facility Operations Update from Soul Sanctuary that Elevator installation is to commence shortly.
Current lease at Soul Sanctuary will expire August 31, 2018. This will be renewed for another year September 1, 2018- August 31, 2019. Terms of Rent to continue at the current rate.
6. Special Events
Rookie Master Game to be held Tuesday April 17, 2018. Information to be published on the Web Site.
April Sectional will be held April 26-29, 2018. ACBL policy is that all players attending a tournament must have an ACBL Membership
Discussion followed. One month memberships are available for $9.95 Cdn. These can also be converted to a regular membership and the $9.95 will be applied against the total cost of an annual membership.
Motion: That Non members will be charged $10.00, which will be used to purchase a temporary ACBL Membership. With this purchase the first tournament game will be free. Moved Marlene Pontifex, Seconded Leigh Anne Shafer. Carried.
7. Treasurer’s Report. No report
8. Membership No Report Meeting will be held week of March 26. Report next meeting
9.Long Term Planning and Fund Raising Committee are combined. Meeting to be held week of March 26 Report next meeting.
10. New Business:
There will 3 new sets of lessons check web site for information.
CNTC to be held in May in Montreal there will be teams from Unit 181 attending
Motion: That any team that makes the playoffs in the CNTC’s will be reimbursed card fees for the playoff rounds only. Reimbursement to be paid upon return. Moved by Dave West, Seconded Shirley Galler.
Carried. Note John Hindle and Doug Fisher will be attending and did not vote due to conflict of interest. Opposed Marlene Pontifex
Next Unit 181 Board Meeting Tuesday May 1, 2018 5.30 P.M at the New Facility Soul Sanctuary.
