MINUTES OF MEETING JULY 24, 2014

Present : Doug Fisher, Barry Wolk, Marielle Brentnall, Shirley Galler, Len Doerksen, Carolyn Douglas, , Debbie Gnoinski, Paulette Migie, John Hindle, Mike Shaw, Deloris Ankrom, Bernia Brandstaedter, Lorraine Serlin

Meeting called to order 5.30 P.M.

2. Minutes of Meeting June 19, 2014 accepted as printed. Moved by Marielle Brentnall, Seconded by John Hindle. Carried
Minutes of Special Meeting held June 25, 2014, accepted as printed. Moved by Paulette Migie, Seconded by Marielle Brentnall. Carried.

3.Occupancy Permit for premises at 1460 Chevrier Blvd picked up July 23, 2014. Number 140537/2014.

4. Inspectors for the City of Wpg okayed building inspection report # 138286/2014 occupancy 150 people.

5. Mings to give us a copy of lease. Will forward to Brian Pauls, who has volunteered to check same over. Jerry Cohen to handle

6. Marielle gave a short review of 3 weeks of operation. Estimated revenue for month $6000.00 which is compatible to projected budget.
Volunteers helped spruce up the premises, painting, cleaning, etc. purchased a vacuum, Arthur Blankstein donated a large vacuum, for heavy cleaning.
A list of what needs to be done to keep premises in prestine condition will be posted by Marielle, along with whom is responsible. This will include instructions for setting of thermostats, bathroom lights etc. Note Ferd Bernjak fixed the doors so entry cannot be made without keys.
Expenditure was $800.00 to $900.00 for capital equipment
Suggestion was to pre-program thermostat and have a lock box. Marielle will check.
Len will continue to service filters.
Ray will sort through books, provide a sign take a book, return a book

7. Rental of Premises a rental rate of $100.00 was established. It will be restricted to Member or Member related, without a liquor license.

8. Insurance policy for Comprehensive General will be contracted. Estimated cost. $550.00 per yea

9. Rental of Unit Equipment. We own, Duplimate, Bridge Mates, etc, and will recover costs from the clubs that are using such. Rate to be set per table.
Unit has purchased cards and will sell at $2.50 per deck. Estimated cost ofor a set of boards using duplimate is $5.00-$7.00.
Marielle will check into and report a rate at next meeting.
Suggestion was made that a sign should be installed.

10. Special Events-September Tournament Brochure ready shortly. Dates September 18-21, 2014

11. Web site needs an update. Bob Todd will receive a tutorial on procedures by Marielle and will handle imputing special games, tournament etc. Event calendar, NAP’s etc.

12. Discussion on increasing player participation. Suggestions were made that we should institute a Bring a Friend “Newbie” and receive 2 free passes. Another was to check into the new concept of ACL’s Learn Bridge in a Day. We need a brain storming session. Check into the Mike Lawrence, Audrey Grant programs available.

13. Grand Reopening. We want to celebrate our new Unit adventure. We will hold a celebration October 4, 2014. Details will follow. Note we are all so excited about our unit 181 dedicated premises, and are suggesting, a pot luck dinner, a Board a Match game, maybe drawing to play with a someone special…example Doug Fisher.

14. Note any changes to game schedules by clubs must be approved by the Unit Board.

15. Marielle will post a list of whom is responsible for purchasing supplies.

16. Shirley Galler will purchase a First Aid kit for the premises.
